Family members and the subscription

The owner pays. Everyone they invite is covered and pays nothing.

Short answer

The family owner's Family plan covers up to 3 babies and 3 carers. Carers do not subscribe. Their Settings say Free plan, and that is normal.

Veilleuse is for iPhone.

One subscription for the family

The person who added the first baby is the family owner. The owner's Family plan covers the whole family: up to 3 babies and 3 carers. Each carer uses their own account on their own phone, and pays nothing.

Inviting someone needs the Family plan. On the Free plan, the family is the owner alone, with one baby.

To see who the owner is:

  1. Tap Baby at the bottom right of the screen.
  2. Scroll down to Family.
  3. The owner has Owner next to their name. The others have Carer.
The Family section on the Baby screen: Claire marked Owner, and Add another baby under it.

The owner's subscription covers everyone here.

Carers see Free plan

In a carer's Settings, the crown under the name says Free plan, and the big button says Subscribe. This is normal. It shows the carer's own account, not the family. The carer still has everything, through the owner.

Carers should not subscribe. Only the owner's subscription opens the family's diary.

A carer paid by mistake

A subscription bought on a carer's account does not open the family. To stop it:

  1. Cancel it in the carer's iPhone Settings. See Cancel your subscription.
  2. Ask Apple for a refund if you want. See Ask Apple for a refund.

When the owner's plan ends

The family goes back to the Free plan. Nothing is deleted.

  • The owner keeps logging one baby, the first one added, by hand.
  • The carers see a note instead of the diary: This family is paused. They can still read the guides.

The owner subscribes again, or taps Restore on the plans screen, and everyone is back in, with every entry. See What is free, and what the Family plan adds.
