Where the answers come from
Claire answers only from our guides, the same ones you can read in the app. She never guesses. It is general information, not medical advice.
She answers questions about babies in general. She does not read your diary. For a question about your own baby's day, such as "when did she last feed?", she says The Diary answers questions about her own logs. and offers Open the Diary. See Ask your diary a question.
In an emergency
Some words, such as "not breathing", are checked on your phone first, before anything is sent. Claire then shows Call an ambulance now at once, with a button to call. It works with no internet. The number is the emergency number of the country your iPhone is set to, or 112.
A question about a medicine or a dose gets the same answer every time: Ask a doctor or pharmacist before giving her any medicine. I never give doses.
If you think your baby is in danger, call the emergency number now. Do not wait for an answer.
If it does not answer
If Claire says I could not answer just now. Check the connection and try again., the line under it gives the emergency number, with a button to call it.
- Check your Wi-Fi or mobile data.
- Tap Try again.
Each question counts as one of your family's 30 requests a day, like the voice page. When none are left, the message says when they come back.
