Couldn’t do that: timer messages

A message in the appUpdated 7 October 2026

A timer message never deletes anything. It tells you why that tap did not work.

Short answer

The message under Couldn't do that says why. Most of the time, someone changed the timer on another phone: look at Home, and try again if you still need to.

Veilleuse is for iPhone.

All these messages come with the title Couldn't do that. Tap OK to close them. Nothing is lost. They can show right after a tap, or later when your phone comes back online and sends what it kept.

  • It is already running. You tried to resume a timer that runs again already, maybe from another phone. Nothing to do.
  • Only the latest one can be resumed. A newer one was added since, maybe by someone else. You can only resume the newest. Start a new one with the + on the Home card.
  • Another one is already running. Stop it first. Another sleep (or breastfeed, or pump) runs. Stop it first, then try again.
  • Only the parent who pumps can change this pump. Each parent's pump is their own. Only the person who started it can stop it or change it.
  • That time doesn't fit this one. The time is before the timer started, or later than now. Check that your phone's clock is right, then try again.
  • This one has no timer. This feed is a bottle or solids, which have no timer. Maybe it was changed on another phone. Open it on Home to check.
  • Something went wrong. Try again. Wait a moment, check your connection, then try again.
